| Sumari: | This dissertation approaches a thematic that has occupied a prominent place in the debates around educational public policies: the regulagion taken by the State for the Basic Education, through evaluations. The research investigated the Avaliação Nacional do Rendimento Escolar - Anresc (National Evaluation of the Education Outcomes), know as Prova Brasil, had as objective to investigate the extent to which the result disclosed on its second edition, in 2007, subsidized the Secretaria de Estado da Educação = SEF/DF General (Secretariat for Education of the Federal District) in the progress of regulation of the public schools network, in order to achieve a better quality in the first grades of the elementary school.
