Sammanfattning:This research aims to investigate educational concepts and practices socially recognized as alternative education, seeking to understand its foundations, implementation and its influence at the current educational context. The research was developed through educational practices that aim to differentiate themselves from traditional education, claiming to use different methodologies or techniques. From authors such as Illich, Saviani and Freire, it was aimed to analyze the educational practice of a Kindergarten School in Brasilia, a reference among those who search for an alternative education. Supported by those authors, it was analyzed the relations that are established at the school, some of its pedagogical apparatus and the knowledge construction processes aiming to understand in which educational were found this school would be in. From the research some characteristics of the school that we understood as alternative.
